What would you like your students to take away from this year?

Because I enjoy reading so much, I would like to encourage my students to develop their own love for reading and to carry this love as they grow. I would also like to see my students continue to use Bullying Prevention strategies as they go through life's journey and to always remember that it's not what others think of you that is important, but what you think of yourself that is more important.

Why did you become a teacher?

When my neice and nephews were younger, I'd love spending time with them and seeing their faces light up when the ideas they created for a game or activity worked. I always felt this special connection with children and can't imagine doing anything other than teaching.

What is your favorite lesson to teach?

My favorite lesson is reading. I enjoy everything about it, especially when I read aloud "Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone" and use different voices for each character.  The students love this.

What is one thing your students don't know about you?

I took ballet lessons for three years in my thirties. I was actually in a ballet recital.
