COVID-19 changed our normal routines quite drastically over the last two months. Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, like Notre Dame de Lourdes School, have ensured that students continue through the curriculum and stay on task while at home.
Thanks to the incredible dedication and extraordinary professional efforts of our teachers and principals, our schools have successfully overcome the hurdle of teaching and learning from home. Teachers and students consistently meet with one another and share their day to day activities in addition to their school work.
Students from schools throughout the archdiocese stay busy decorating Easter eggs, cooking food for their Spanish classes, practicing prayers in American Sign Language, making theme days (like wearing your favorite Halloween costume to Zoom classes), planning virtual May Processions, creating collages and drawing for art classes, among many more fun activities. Some schools and students have also donated money, supplies, and food to help benefit the community and organizations working to benefit those working the front lines during this crisis.
Be sure to check out the newsletter sent out by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Catholic Education Coronavirus (COVID-19) Task Force to see more activities and stay up to date on the latest news. Each newsletter provides updates to the current situation regarding the school year, as well as tips to make each day go smoothly.
Notre Dame de Lourdes looks forward to seeing students soon!
