The primary purpose of the CARES (Children Are Receiving Extended Services) Program is to provide a productive before and after-school program in a safe and caring environment for yournger children or working parents. The other aspect is to relieve parents of the additional concern for childcare in the event of any family emergency, occasional shopping spree, or doctor's visit.
The program is offered 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. in the morning and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the afternoon on school days. The schedule matches the days of attendance of the school calendar and does not include Satrudays, holidays, half days, or any day on which school might be closed for an emergency. A monthly CARES letter will be sent home to keep you informed of any additional days CARES would not be offered.
Morning CARES fee is $10 per day.
Any preschool student dropped off before their designated time will be charged a $5.00 fee daily.
Afternoon CARES fees:
- Option 1 - $90/week for 15 hours for one child - $20/week for each additional child in the family.
- Option 2 - $70/week for 10 hours for one child - $20/week for each additional child in the family.
- Option 3 - Less than 10 hours per week will be billed at $8 per hour for the first child and $4 per day for each additional child.
Option 3 gives parents the opportunity to use this service on an occasional basis. All that is required is a note to the office or a phone call (610-328-9330), made prior to 2:30 p.m. on the day your child will be staying.
Closing time for afternoon CARES is 6:00 p.m. A late fee of $25 per each 15 minutes will be charged to those picking up students after 6:00 p.m.
This program is offered as a service to only Notre Dame de Lourdes students. No profit is made from this program. The fee is used for teacher salaries, snacks, and supplies for the center.
